Heritage Volunteering

We are pleased to be able to continue in our support of Amersham Museum which has more amazing projects on its wish-list.  The committee has chosen to pay for the restoration of a 1940s dolls house and a modern Georgian-style dolls house, using volunteer workshops as well as professional support.  The cost is estimated at up to £3,000 which we will meet over two years.

We were also delighted to hear that Milton’s Cottage is undertaking new projects to improve the conservation of important historical documents and prints in its collection and for which we are providing finance up to £1,000.

We had also hoped to support Chesham Museum but sadly it has lost its premises and had to put its artefacts in storage. We hope that new premises will be found and the Museum re-established as Chesham has a rich heritage to show-case.

Several individual members of The Art Society Amersham still volunteer in various roles at Amersham Museum and Chenies Manor where more volunteers are always welcome.
